When are the stitches pulled out?
The stitches are usually absorbed by themselves. If non-absorbable material is used they are removed 7 to 10 days after the procedure.
How should I eat after chin surgery?
For the first days we recommend eating a non-irritating mushy diet and pay attention to increased oral hygiene (thorough cleaning and rinsing with mouthwash). You can gradually switch to a normal diet within around a week.
What is the ideal age for chin surgery?
Chin plastic surgery is performed after the growth of facial bones has stopped and can be performed at any age. You must be in a good state of health.The procedure is under general anesthesia.
Is chin surgery painful?
You can alleviate the pain after chin plastic surgery with common analgesics. Swelling and bruising occur but most of them resolve within 2 weeks.
How long shall I rest after the chin surgery?
After plastic chin surgery we recommend a rest period of 3 to 4 days and cold compresses such as ice that will reduce the swelling.
How long do I have to wear chin fixation?
We will remove the external fixation of the chin in 4 to 5 days.
