What to expect
Before the surgery
For two weeks before the treatment avoid aspirin and other blood thinners. Minimise alcohol consumption and smoking for a few days before the procedure. Ideally you should stop smoking completely.
During the surgery
Hi Def Liposculpture can be performed under analgosedation or general or local anaesthesia. Before the procedure begins, the surgeon inserts a tumescent solution into the subcutaneous tissues in the areas designated for liposuction in order to loosen the fat cells, desensitise the area, and decrease bleeding during the procedure as well as swelling afterwards. As soon as the solution takes effect the surgeon suctions fat from the subcutaneous tissue using a thin liposuction cannula through small incisions in the skin. The Hi Def method involves suctioning specifically targeted areas to highlight the muscle contours. General anaesthesia will require a one-day stay at the clinic. With local anaesthesia you will be released the same day into home care. You can take a sedative before the procedure begins.
Post-operation
You may experience swelling and hematomas in the first two weeks, but the extent varies from individual to individual. Most patients experience stiffness, mild pain or a burning sensation. You will need to wear a compression garment for four to six weeks after the procedure in order to speed up the healing process and help the subcutaneous tissue to adapt to the new shape.
