I live in the UK and was doing my research to have upper bleph, my eyelids were very heavy & hooded making me look tired and under confident, hated having a photo taken. I got in touch with MedRoyal and Dani made contact , I sent in photos and we chatted on the phone. Dani then checked for suitable surgeons and I decided on YES Visage clinic with Dr Mrna. Dani helped with the hotel suggestion which was attached to the clinic. I travelled alone, felt safe & cared for. I have had my stitches removed today in the UK and the results after 8 days are amazing. I am still healing but even the nurse in the UK said the job the surgeon had done was really very good. Dani also assisted with the logistic of transfer arrangements from airport to hotel and return. How long does the hospitalization take after the procedure?

The length of stay in the hospital is around 3 to 7 days. Most gastric bypasses are performed laparoscopically today so surgical incisions are smaller which speeds up recovery after surgery.

How does convalescence work?

After leaving the hospital you heal at home for 3 to 5 weeks before you can return to normal activities. Overall recovery takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Part of convalescence is also the adjustment of the diet – the first month after the procedure you receive only fluids and a small amount of soft food, over time you will slowly switch back to a solid diet.

Do I have to follow any special regime after convalescence?

The patient should long-term adhere to the principles of a healthy lifestyle and include regular exercise in his regimen. It is also necessary to supplement vitamins and minerals throughout life which the body absorbs less as a result of surgery.
