One of the most complicated plastic surgery
Septorhinoplasty primarily removes nasal septal deviation. At the same time, the surgeon can also make an aesthetic adjustment of the external nose, such as lowering the nasal hump such as the case of an “eagle nose” or narrowing the tip in the case of a saddle nose. Deformation of the nasal septum can make respiration worse and interfere with cleaning, humidification and consumption of the inhaled air. It is either congenital or acquired (due to injury or during childbirth). Septoplasty therefore is only the straightening of the nasal septum without aesthetic adjustments. Because it is one of the most demanding plastic surgeries, a successful result depends on the choice of a particular aesthetic surgeon. We will be happy to help you with its selection. When approximately can I do sport again?
Whether it’s exercise, strength training or major cleaning, we do recommend wait so about 1 to 2 months. It is important to protect the nose always. In the first months after the surgery, even a small wound or impact can spoil the resultBe aware and reduce all risk activities like martial arts and the others at least for 6 to 12 months. Your surgeon will give you the exact instructions.
When is the appearance of the nose final after surgery?
It takes up to 12 months for the nose to heal completely. Therefore, you can assess the aesthetic and functional effect of the surgery only after this time has elapsed. A further possible treatment can be performed after one year.
What is the ideal age for nose surgery?
The ideal age is after the end of growth and overall development of the organism in puberty. For boys around 18 to 20 years of age and for girls after the age of 18.
Will the nose hurt after plastic surgery?
Although bruising will occur after the procedure, the nose will not hurt at all during healing. Patients will tend to feel discomfort due to difficulty breathing and also due to swelling.
How long does the nose heal after the surgery?
The most difficult are the first 2 days after the operation, because the patient has tamponades in his nose and can only breathe through his mouth. Due to swelling and the presence of mucus, it may be difficult to breathe in the next few days. Due to temperature changes, the nose may turn red.
How long before I can get back to work?
Plan your vacation for 2 to 3 weeks. If you work in a dusty environment, with chemicals or have physically demanding work, even longer such as 3-4 weeks.
