What is thigh lift?
Thigh lift is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and folds in the thighs, returning their former elasticity and firmness. This operation is suitable for clients who have lost a great deal of weight and now need to have excess skin removed. It can also help clients whose skin has lost elasticity due to ageing.
The best combination
Many clients benefit from thigh lift in combination with thigh liposuction. The surgeon can then reduce the volume of the thighs and improve contours even more effectively. This leaves the thighs slimmer and more comfortable for walking or exercising.
Get an experienced surgeon
Thigh lift is one of the less frequently performed plastic surgery operations. This makes it even more important to choose a surgeon with experience in this particular procedure. Tell us what you would like and we will be happy to recommend a top specialist for you. We are familiar with the work of dozens of plastic surgeons at clinics all over the Czech Republic and we can recommend a medical team for you with the best possible chance of giving you the results you want.

What to expect
Before the operation
For two weeks before the procedure avoid aspirin and other blood thinners. Minimise alcohol consumption and smoking for a few days before the procedure. Ideally you should stop smoking completely.
During the operation
Thigh lift takes place under general anaesthesia and the anaesthesiologist remains present during the entire procedure. The surgeon makes the incisions in the spots marked before the procedure, removing overhanging skin and subcutaneous tissue. Then the surgeon stitches up the reduced tissue (skin and subcutaneous tissue) using dissolvable stitches. You will stay overnight at the clinic. You can take a sedative before the procedure begins, if you wish.
Post-operation
Post-operative care is highly important after thigh lift and has a fundamental impact on achieving satisfactory results. You will need to wear a compression garment for four to six weeks. You should rest as much as possible for the first few days. Any discomfort can be managed with pain medication. Swelling and haematomas usually subside within seven to 10 days. The recovery period lasts two to three weeks.
Just-in-case insurance
The risk of complications arising during or after the procedure is very low. Choosing the right surgeon with our help is the best thing you can do to get excellent results. Still, no surgeon in the world can guarantee no complications will ever occur. Taking out insurance on an operation is a logical step, and more and more patients today are choosing to insure their aesthetic operation. We will be glad to help you with that as well. Just say the word.

There are multiple options for lifting the skin on the thighs. Sometimes a small incision in the groin does the job. We will be happy to discuss which incision would be best in your case with our trusted surgeons on the basis of photographs. Let us know.

The results are usually long-term. It is important to remember, however, that we cannot stop the ageing process entirely and physical changes may appear after some time. Following all the surgeon’s recommendations is the best way to make sure you heal well, get the results you want and have them last as long as possible. Another important factor in maintaining long-term results is keeping a stable weight.
