How to deal the problem with lop ears
Lop ears begin by the deformation of cartilage and surgery is performed by cutting the back of the auricles. Following this, the scars are almost invisible and not noticeable when wearing glasses. Sewing the ears together takes about 1 to 2 hours and the patient will go home immediately after. It is usually performed only under a local anesthesia. However, young children and more sensitive patients are usually operated under general anesthesia to reduce any anxiety and to bring a sense of calm. In addition to protruding ears, we can also operatively adjust the size of a specific part of the ear, reduce an oversized ear hole or a protruding earlobe. How long does it take for the wound to heal?
The wound heals in about 2 weeks, and then the stitches are removed. Cartilage heals longer, fully heals in 2 to 3 months.
How should I behave after surgery?
You should avoid strenuous physical activity in the early days. A special compression bandage must be worn for about a week. If the surgeon does not select self-absorbing sutures, they are removed after 7 to 10 days. However, you should wear a headband for a few weeks, especially when you are sleeping and lying down to support the best possible result of the operation.
Is an ear surgery painful?
During the surgery, we will desensitize the area. Approximately 3 hours after the procedure the operated area begins to resonate. You will feel better by analgesics which will be recommended directly by your cosmetic surgeon.
What is the ideal age for an ear plastic surgery?
The surgery is available to clients from the age of 14, with parental consent.
In what position should I sleep after the operation?
Ideally sleep for a few days with a raised head position.
Can I have only one auricle surgery performed?
Yes, you can only have one earlobe operated on. The price is of course reduced.
