What is a body lift?
Body lift (sometimes called body contouring or body sculpting) is a complex surgical procedure that removes excess skin in areas where patients have lost weight, eliminating overhang and creating a more pleasing silhouette. Often body lift is the best solution for people who have lost a great deal of weight and now have to deal with excess skin. The procedure adapts the skin to the body’s new proportions, returning it to its natural shape and firmness.
Arms, breasts, torso and legs
A body lift involves surgically lifting several areas of the body. The middle section of the body often experiences extreme sagging, especially in the belly and hips and sometimes also in the thighs and arms. Targeted procedures to correct these problems include abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), thigh lift and arm lift. Weight loss also frequently affects the shape of the breasts, so body lift can also include:

What to expect
1.Before the operation
For two weeks before the treatment avoid aspirin and other blood thinners. Minimise alcohol consumption and smoking for a few days before the procedure. Ideally you should stop smoking completely.
2.During the operation
Given the scope involved, body lift is performed under general anaesthesia. It is an extensive operation that involves removing a large amount of tissue from the body and losing a good deal of blood, resulting in bruising and swelling. The anaesthesiologist remains present during the entire procedure. You can take a sedative before the procedure begins, if you wish. This procedure requires a two to three-day stay at the clinic.
3.Post-operation
You may experience temporary swelling, lack of sensation or tightness in the operation sites. We recommend spending the first days after the operation lying down with your torso propped up. Cold packs to the sites of ttreatment is also important. More extensive body lifts often require a longer recovery period than other procedures.
