What is a hair transplant?
A hair transplant renews natural growth of hair in places where it is thinning. Most hair loss occurs in bald spots, over the forehead or at the crown of the head. Smaller-scale procedures are done using the NeoGraft 2.0 robotic device. More extensive procedures make use of ARTAS technology. Transplant is a suitable option for men and women both.
NeoGraft 2.0 – ideal for men and women
Hair transplant using the NeoGraft 2.0 is intended mainly to thicken the hair in places where it is thinning. One major advantage of the NeoGraft is that clients do not need to shave, making this a suitable option for men and women both. This method involves extracting individual hair follicles directly from the scalp in naturally occurring groups. The procedure leaves no visible scarring and has a very short recovery period. And the result? A permanent, natural-looking hairline.
ARTAS – specialising in extensive jobs
ARTAS® is a fully robotic method designated for extensive transplants (1000 to 2500 grafts). It is particularly suitable for men experiencing a significant amount of hair loss. What to expect
1.Before the operation
For two weeks before the treatment avoid aspirin and other blood thinners. Minimise alcohol consumption and smoking for a few days before the procedure. Ideally you should stop smoking completely.
2.During the operation
Hair transplant using both these technologies, ARTAS® and Neograft 2.0, takes place under local anaesthesia as an outpatient procedure. You can take a sedative before the procedure begins, if you wish. Whichever device you choose, the hair transplant takes place in two phases: first removing the grafts from the donor site and then placing the grafts at the selected site based on a 3D model.
NeoGraft 2.0 transplant is semi-robotic. The surgeon carefully removes the selected follicles and uses the device to place them in the target area. The collection points are unobtrusive and evenly spaced so the procedure cannot be detected.
ARTAS transplant is fully robotic and requires completely shaving the head. The system determines which hair follicles are suitable for transplant and then carefully removes them. Then the ARTAS system creates a site to receive the hair follicles. The results look completely natural.
3.Post-operation
You can go home almost immediately after the procedure with someone to accompany you. The transplanted hair grows naturally in phases. About three months after the procedure the new hair will begin growing in naturally and the final results will be visible after about a year.
